Special announcement! All new Laser 2mC's now come with integral Kevlar Hinges. No more tape hinges! The Kevlar hinges are very strong and permanent! Smooth upper and lower surfaces improve performance!

Completely redesigned from the fuselage out, The Laser 2MC is a high-level competition ship designed around the Laser 2-meter fuselage. The all-composite construction with computer designed triple taper wings was designed to win two meter competitions.

The Laser fuselage is epoxy glass reinforced with Kevlar, able to hold up to hard landings. It is clean and aerodynamic, sporting an integral fin and slip-on nosecone. The tail features a Spyder foam and composite full-flying stab. The triple-taper wings are vacuum-bagged carbon fiber cloth over foam and are painted in the bag with white on top and the natural black on the bottom. They are ready to fly with the ailerons and flap cut, and servo bays and tunnels installed. The two-piece plug-in wing uses a very strong and light 3/8" carbonfiber wingrod for maximum strength with a minimum of weight. Due to the unique joiner system of the Laser 2M, a steel wingrod can be substituted for ballasting purposes, increasing the weight up by 20 ounces. The kit is shipped complete with all the parts and quality hardware, and included Cad plans and instructions.

How does it fly? This sailplane was flown to first place at the 1997 Nats by Daryl Perkins (1997 Nats winner, 1997, and 1995 F3B World Champ) Daryl was instrumental in making sure the Laser 2MC would launch, handle and land better than any other 2 meter sailplane. To that effect, he insisted that the Laser 2MC have large flaps and ailerons, as well as generous rudder area. Because of this, landings are slow and controlled right down to stall speed. Getting those 90+ landing scores is going to be easy! The SD7036 has a better speed range than the SD7037 with the same sinkrate. The results are extended speed range and higher zoom launches, with no sacrifice in low-speed handling. The Laser 2MC is very straightforward to fly and has no bad habits. An extremely user-friendly ship, it's hard to single out one particular quality of the Laser 2M - it does everything so well!

New Laser 2MC with Gelcoated fuselage. Reduces the weight by 2 ounces and is ready to go with the wingrod holes predrilled!

Sal Says:
Well, maybe with all these good qualities it might be hard to single out one…I just remember the first time Daryl P. launched the prototype Laser 2MC at the Nats. This was the first launch on a winch, a practice launch before the contest began. Daryl ran it up the winch…hard… popped into the bucket and pulled up. It seemed like the Laser 2MC climbed for a full minute. A collective gasp came out from the crowd!……Then he proceeded to win with it!
