David Kyjovsky has done it again! He has taken all that is phenomenal about the Flash EPP and has designed the scale Yak 54.

Like the Flash EPP, this is a Phenomenal performing airplane! The Yak 54 EPP will do every stunt you can think of and a few you never dreamed of. When David Kyjovsky designs an airplane you can bet it will be a good one. Each aircraft that he designs build and improves on the one that went before and the Yak 54 EPP is no exception. This is one of the best aircraft we have seen in EPP/ David has designed an airplane that does 3D and aerobatic extremely well ,extracting the best flight characteristics, and the most fun all in one design. With the Yak 54 EPP he has done a really great job...thank you, David!

Like the Flash EPP, the Yak 54 is made completely made from EPP. Basically the Yak 54 is a Flash with different fuselage and tail feathers and different painrt scheme so it retains the same flight characteristics as the Flash EPP. The scale look is really great! We especially like the Laser cut radial mount and the EPP radial cowling that really lends to that scale appearance.

The Yak 54 EPP, while being VERY Durable, has been designed with a light airframe. The all EPP wings are airfoil shaped EPP and are very very stiff due to an addition of a carbon fiber shear spar on top and bottom of the wing. The fuselage is made from a slap of EPP with an interlocking vertical cross piece, also in EPP and is very strong and durable especially due to the addition of carbon stringers. This makes for a very light, stiff, durable structure.. The tail surfaces are also EPP and are HUGE! The rudder is full flying and the elevators are balanced and actually the major part of the stabs. Needless to say, these control surfaces are very large and are designed to make the Yak 54 EPP very responsive in slow speed flight. Ailerons are also very large, EPP. The ailerons and elevators are attached and hinged using a uniquely designed integrated hinge which results in excellent throw and symmetrical throws of the surfaces.

You have to check out this amazing video! The High Def Version takes longer to download but the quality is worth it!

The landing gear is made from Carbon fiber for durability and strength. This arrangement will take lots of hard landings and abuse and will still hold up for you. As you can see, everything on this airplane has been maxed for extreme 3D flight and the abuse that this type of flying does to the airframe.

The Yak 54 EPP is designed to take crash after crash and will survive almost anything you can give it!

All surfaces are decorated fully and are finished using a computerized printing technique that results in a beautiful look.

The wing is finished as one piece and is decorated for you, as is the fuselage. The wing slides through the fuselage and the four servos (2-ailerons, rudder, and elevator) mount on the top of the wings near the fuselage (two on each side). The battery mounts into the side of the fuselage and the receiver again in the side of the fuse. The motor mount is excellent and is designed for the small AXI motors. The front motor area is reinforced with lite-ply and the motor mount is fiberglass making for a very strong mount. We really like this mounting system as it much more secure and protects the outrunner motor from damage.

We suggest using either the Hitec HS-55, S75, or S3114 servos for the control surfaces you will need 4 (2 ailerons, elevator and rudder). For a receiver we suggest either the Berg 7 as the best for 72Mhz or the AR6100 for 2.4Ghz operation.

The Yak 54 EPP is a real fun fly airplane and is capable of flying in a very small area. We make sure you have a complete ARF kit with all hardware and a set of plans/instructions for building. You will find that the Yak 54 EPP will go together very fast and if you use the recommended motor systems it is possible to have it flying in one evening of assembly. With any of the brushless motor listed below, it is possible to hover and do any aerobatic maneuver you please including knife edge flight, harriers, hovering, etc.

Axi Motor System: This package includes AXI 2212/26 motor with 25 amp Brushless sensorless speed control, 3- cell 1320 mah Li-poly battery pack, prop, adapter, and connectors. Vertical performance.

Hacker A20-20L Motor System-li-poly
This included the Hacker A20-20L Brushless Outrunner Motor, the ThunderBird 18 Amp Brushless Sensorless Speed Control, Prop, Prop adapter, and 3-cell 1320mah Li-Poly battery and comes with all hardware and connectors. This system is very powerful and will give the best 3D performance for this aircraft.

HiMaxx Motor System-xsm1
HiMaxx 2812-0850 Brushless Out-runner Motor (comes with prop adapter and radial mount as well as connectors for speed control to motor), Phoenix 25 Brushless Sensor-less Speed Control, APC 10 x 4.7 slow flight prop, a Thunder power 3-cell 1320 mah Li-Poly battery with JST connectors and all connectors and hardware. This is plainly awesome performance.
