AVOCADO
RC sailplane or electric sailplane for
the sports flyers
The Avocado is a beautiful
sleek new sailplane made in the Czech republic with all the quality and
performance typical of an Eastern European sailplane. The Avocado is ideal
for thermal flying as well as, high speed, aerobatics, and slope flying. It
can be used as a non powered glider or an electric powered sailplane. AXI
282010 with 3-cell Li-Poly battery pack be used as a standard power unit.
This model may be fitted with a more powerful motor and can fly any
aerobatics. The wings are fully sheeted balsa ribs and carbon spar
construction, reinforced by fiberglass, so the airframe will stand up to
aerobatics high speed passes, etc.
The ailerons are controlled
by independent mini-servos. The ailerons can be used as spoilerons to
control the glide path making for easier landings. It makes aileron mixer
possible to use also as brakes. Although flying and handling characteristics
are excellent, but this model is for intermediate to advanced pilots only.

This model is a must for chasing thermals and designed from the
start for electric flight.
The flaps enable the model to be perfectly balanced during winching, to ride out
the rough weather easily, to maximize lift while spiraling and they act as
powerful airbrakes to help land the model at your feet even in the most
difficult conditions.

The Avocado sailplane is perfect for the advances to intermediate flyer that
wants a reasonable sized sailplane to go out and have some fun thermaling mixed
with aerobatics. We would call the Avocado a great Warmliner. The
fiberglass fuselage is pre-painted and has cooling vents for good flow
through of air around the motor and battery pack. The T-tail is elevator and
stabilizer construction and attaches with two bolts for ease of assembly and
breakdown. Wings and tails are balsa sheeted foam that is reinforced for
strength. The wing is two piece with outboard ailerons. The controls are
ailerons (two servos), rudder, elevator and motor control. The lightness of the
airframe combined with a modern profile give surprisingly good flight
characteristics. The Avocado is sleek and streamlined with performance beyond
most of the 2.5 meter sailplanes we have tested.
All in all we find the Avocado to be a good choice for all around flying and
is able to take a variety of motor systems depending on your performance
requirements. Although the Manufacturer suggests using the AXI Motor we prefer
using the HiMaxx Motors for ease of use, performance and cost. The HiMaxx motor
is the same size and will put out more power comes with all the connectors and
accessories needed. Of course, if you looking for lowest weight highest
efficiency and best performance we suggest looking at the Medusa or Multiplex
motor systems.

- 1 standard sized Receiver or smaller of minimum 7 channels (Berg 7,
Fusion, etc..)
Note: We strive to make sure our motor systems have the best performance and
reliability we can offer and at a very reasonable price. Battery technology
constantly changes so if the opportunity arises, we may choose to upgrade your
system with a newer higher performance battery. All the batteries we sue are
made in Korea and are ThunderPower, FlightPower, Poly RC, and PolyQuest.
Himaxx 3522 Sailplane Motor System-Li-Poly This system will fit in the
nose of the Avocado without any modification. The system includes the HiMaxx
3522-990 Brushless Motor with
Phoenix 45 Brushless Sensorless Speed Control, Special Aluminum
Spinner, hub and collet, matching composite folding prop, and 3-cell 2500 mah
25C Li-Poly Battery. All hardware and
connectors are included. Although not quite as powerful as the inrunner systems
it will still climb the Avocado at a 45-60 degree angle.
Medusa Sailplane Motor System-Med-Lipol This motor system is
perfect for sailplanes from 85-105" wingspan. This motor system includes the
Medusa
MR-028-040-2800 with Multiplex 4.4-1 Planetary geardrive,
Phoenix 45 Brushless Sensorless Speed Control, Special Aluminum
Spinner, hub and collet, matching composite folding prop, and 3-cell 2200 mah
25C Li-Poly Battery. All hardware and
connectors are included. This system is very light and powerful and it the
perfect motor system matched to this sailplane. It will give you a very strong
climb and give you the lightest possible flying weight.
Multiplex Sailplane Motor System-Lipoly: Multiplex BL 4804G
Brushless motor with 4.4 to 1 planetary Geardrive, Phoenix 45 Brushless
Sensorless speed control. folding Cam Prop blades, aluminum Spinner and Hub and
3-cell 2200 mah 25C Li-Poly Battery pack. This system comes with all connectors
and hardware. We use Deans Ultra plugs for the battery connecters. This will
really climb this sailplane!
Himaxx 3522 Sailplane Motor System-Li-Poly This system will fit in the

I really like this sailplane as it is is great doing so many things. It thermals well, is very aerobatics, and is lots of fun on the slope. The Avocado breaks down to a flat package and will go back in the box it was shipped in. Great for traveling too!
