The new Omega 2 2.5ME is the largest of the Omegas and definitely has the most
performance. Built like the Omega 2 2ME it has stretched wings with longer fuselage. The
tail has been improved with a molded leading and trailing edge like the wings and is very
strong and lighter than the balsa tails. The tail is one piece and is made to bolt to the
fuselage with two bolts. The tails are drilled and fitted to the fuselage at the factory
so no building is required. The wing is very stiff yet light and is covered with Solarflim
covering. The leading edge is molded and painted white for better visibility. Given this
type of construction, we have found the Omega to have the best workmanship we have seen to
date. The performance is quite a bit better than the any of the smaller two meter
electrics yet due to its low overall weight the Omega II 2.5ME can easily accommodate the
smaller lighter electric systems and climb vertically! With its high aspect ratio, MH32
airfoil and clean efficient planform the Omega 2.5ME excels in its thermaling ability and
its performance in less than ideal conditions. With this longer wingspan and increased
aspect ratio, the L/D is enhanced allowing you to range farther to the next thermal. The
longer wings, show a marked decrease in sinkrate while turning so the Omega 2.5ME will
climb faster even in lighter lift. The overall light weight add to this ability.
The new elliptical leading edge increases the efficiency of the overall planform and
the Omega II 2.5M Electric will climb quickly in lift and is able to speed up with a very
good glide ration to get between thermals. Since this Omega comes with flaps ands ailerons
you will find when set up with crow the landing will be very easy and accurate. With full
flaps at 90 degrees and ailerons at a 20 degree upward angle the Omega will be able to
descend vertically without overstressing the airframe. This really comes in handy for
de-thermalizing the sailplane or for those real small field landings.
This is a full ARF with all major components built for you. For example, ailerons and
flaps have pre-built factory installed integral Kevlar hinges, so no worry about the
hinges coming unstuck which is so typical of tape hinges. Best of all less work for you
the modeler. The elevators on the V-tail have this same feature. The fuselage is a
Carbon/Kevlar weave similar to what you will find in full sized sailplanes today. very
strong and rugged!. The Carbon/Kevlar fuse also has the pushrod sleeves installed by the
factory. Both the wings and tails have been factory fitted to the fuselage with the bolts
fitted and tapped so no work there either. The two piece wing has a strong steel joiner
rod capable of taking the stress of everyday flying as well is moderate aerobatics.
Basically all that is left for the modeler is to fitted in the radio, and motor systems
and go flying. with this deluxe ARF all hardware are supplied including a plywood motor
mount for the nose.
The modified MH 32 airfoil, low weight, accurate airfoil and good choice of planform
result in a sailplane that is outstanding. The low inertial weight of the wing reacts to
the lightest lift and small control inputs. At a flying weight of 45-49 oz, it’s an
outstanding performer. Handling is what you would expect, it shows you the lightest
thermal and drives into it by itself.
Handing is very straightforward and stable, the light wingloading with the resultant low
sinkrate allows the Omega 2M Electric to climb in light lift. The generous conservative
planform makes for very easy handling with no bad habits. Although a bit larger than the
Omega II 2ME the Omega II 2.5ME is easier to fly, easier to see and rewards you with
substantially increased performance.

Please note as pictures show different fuselage: We get all Omega II
2.5ME's with Carbon/Kevlar fuselage in a natural unpainted finish. We feel that not only
is this the strongest fuselage in the lightest weight but it looks really cool too!
For best performance we suggest using HS-85BB for the
ailerons and the matching HS-85MG for the flaps. You can also use the HS-125MG for
flaps and ailerons, and if you want the accuracy of Digital we suggest using the HS-5125MG
servos for the wings. The JR DS388 digital servos is also a viable option for all wing
servos. For the ruddervators we suggest using the HS-65HB as this
is a strong light and accurate servo and has plenty of torque for the ruddervator
surfaces. Any 7 or more channel receiver will fit. We suggest the Berg 7 for its
very small size and low weight. The JR 770 or 790 receivers will work well as will the
Hitec Fusion 9
channel receiver.

Medusa Brushless Motor System:
Here is my favorite combination This package includes the Medusa 028-032-2800 with Promaxx 4.3-1
Planetary gear drive and Phoenix 45 amp Brushless Sensorless Speed Control and 3-cell 2070 mah
Li-Poly Battery Pack. The prop spinner, hub, and all connectors are included. This gives
plenty of power and a nice light flying weight. Thermal performance is astounding! This
lightweight system will provide over 80 oz of thrust and is capable of sending the Omega
2.5ME vertically. Based on 75% usage of the battery and climbs to 600 feet, you will be
able to get over 9 climbs! That's a lot of flying!
Himaxx Brushless Motor System
This is the HiMaxx
2825-3643 Brushless motor with 4.3-1 Promaxx planetary geardrive, a Phoenix 45
Brushless Sensorless speed control, 3-cell 2070 mah Li-Poly battery Pack, aluminum
spinner, hub and cam folding prop. This system comes with all connectors and hardware
needed. On any 2 meter sailplane this is enough for almost vertical climb! You should
expect 7-10 climbs to thermal altitude.
Multiplex Sailplane Motor System-Lipoly: Multiplex BL 4804G Brushless
motor with 4.4 to 1 planetary Geardrive, Phoenix 45 Brushless Sensorless speed control.
folding Cam Prop blades, aluminum Spinner and Hub and 3-cell 2070-2100 mah 25C Li-Poly
Battery pack. This system comes with all connectors and hardware. We use Deans Ultra plugs
for the battery connecters. This will really climb this sailplane!
Sal Says:
The Omega 2.5 is very impressive! I fly mine with the Multiplex system and I get a very steep fast climb and maintain a low flying weight. I am very pleased with how well the Omega 2.5 thermals and with the flaps coming into a precise landing at my feet is a no brainer!
Even though the Omega flies at a low wingloading for an electric of this size, the penetration is extreemly good, allowing me to fly in windier conditions and still be able to work light lift on those hot summer days.
