New! the Vermont Bee is the Vermont Belle 1300 with great new colors! We call this version the Vermont Bee because it its the favorite colors of our shipper and longtime friend Bob Landry. Bob has been a modeler for over 50 years and was an AMA Vice president and Nats official for many years. He loves this the black and yellow color scheme because it is so striking and visible so we ordered a special Vermont Belle 1300 in this color just for him. Well, we liked it so much we decided to offer this version to you. In honor of Bob and his longtime modeling we have decided to name this version the Vermont Bee!

Here is a description of the Vermont Bee (Belle)

The Vermont Bee has been designed with several objectives in mind. We wanted an airplane that would take a variety of moderately priced brushless motor systems, an airplane that would be aerobatic and fly in a small area, and be able to do a variety of 3D style maneuvers. We succeed better than we ever expected with the new Vermont Bee. Like the Accord 47, the airframe is built very light (only 10 ounces!) and overall weight is very low. This means that the Vermont Bee can take advantage of the less expensive motor systems and run on less than 10 cells while still providing enough thrust for 3D flight! For full performance install a smaller brushless motor such as the Medusa 028-056-2400 with a 4-1 geardrive, or one of the powerful outrunners such as the Hacker A30-12XL or the Himaxx 3528-1000. These systems on a 3-cell 4000-6000 mah Li-poly give it plenty of power.

The Vermont Bee is now the little sister of the Vermont Belle 1.5 in the Vermont Belle family of airplanes designed and manufactured by LN Model. Like the original Vermont Belle, and the Accord 47, the Vermont Bee is fully built and just needs a little more assembly, radio and motor installation to finish. Surprisingly, the Vermont Bee can be flown in a fairly small area, so that the local park are a very good possibility. With such a reasonable wingloading the landing and flying speed can be very low. The curved trailing edge (elliptical) definitely contributes to this with very benign stall characteristics. For an aerobatic airplane, the Vermont Bee is very forgiving and is definitely a possibility for the low-time fledgling aerobatic pilot. We know we have really made a winner with this one and the experienced pilot will love the handling and abilities of the VTBee. It is capable of doing most of the aerobatic maneuvers in the book. The roll rate is fast, yet the Vermont Bee feels stable in all flight regimes. Inverted flight, rolls, loops, rudder turns, Cuban 8's, split S's, are all possible with the Vermont Bee. We have found that the Vermont Bee will do very crisp square loops even carrying its heaviest battery packs. Push the nose down for level flight and the Vermont Bee will speed up nicely and will fly in quite windy conditions with full control. The wing design and airfoil make this aircraft fly better than any other airplane in its class. You would think that with the 9% airfoil that the Vermont Belle is capable of some speed and you would be correct, but what is most amazing is how well she will slow down. We have found that not only will the Vermont Bee slow down and will hover well but, that it will not stall easily in these slow maneuvers. This is due to the elliptical trailing edge shape which gives the Vermont Bee the best of both worlds. Zip around the patch if you want, with all sorts of aerobatics thrown in, then slow down for hovering maneuvers or a nice mild landing speed. We have also found that the Vermont Bee can handle a variety of battery packs and wingloadings without changing the stall characteristics. This gives you the ability to fly in a variety of conditions while fine tuning the speed range for your type of flying. We have found the thicker airfoils to be forgiving but are draggy in the medium to upper speed range. The Vermont Bee, due to its elliptical trailing edge and the specially designed airfoil, is very efficient, while retaining all of the forgiving and slow speed characteristics of the thicker airfoils. You will find that the Vermont Bee needs very little power to remain cruising with resultant longer flight times.

The Vermont Bee comes with the wings, tails, fuselage built. The landing gear, clear canopy, wheels, and all hardware is included. A set of instructions are also part of the package. The wing bolts onto the fuselage and there is a hatch on the bottom, front of the fuselage for motor and battery access. You do not need to remove the wing! (This has been tested with all the motor systems that we recommend.) This larger fuselage will also fit a variety of batteries from an Nicad to Li-Poly battery pack. We suggest a 3 cell 4000 to 6000 mah Li_poly battery pack for absolute best performance.

This bigger sister of the original Vermont Belle is a perfect size and will fit a variety of motor systems. Give us a call and we will set you up with the system that fits your budget and your needs.
