NSP’s newest release is the ARF Viking. The Viking is a Hi-Wing sport trainer who’s roots traces back to NSP’s proven Virus 400ASP. The new 2 piece wing incorporates a unique “key-hole” front lock / hold down mechanism that provides simple removal of the wing, while at the same time, being slop free and very strong. Another unique feature of the wing is the new split flap design, which gives the builder an option of adding separate flaps, or using simple strip ailerons. The semi-symmetrical NACA series airfoil was carefully selected to give the pilot the right balance between easy trainer type handling with the ability to perform simple aerobatics.
The models light weight provides for a light wing loading. The light loading, clean NACA section, coupled with flaps makes the Viking a touch and go machine. With a 4000
mah Li-Poly battery and brushless power system, NSP test pilots have routinely flown 40 min+ on each battery charge.
The Viking’s fuselage lines remind us of the Golden Age of flight. The battery tray is easy to access through a unique front hatch. Pilots can swap flight batteries without removing the wing. The Viking comes with light weight fiberglass wheel pants.
The Viking can be built with a 2 or 4 servo wing setup for flaps and ailerons. Pilots can choose a simple Y-Harness non-computer radio wing setup, or add complex computer flap mixing from some real fun.
We have found the Viking to be a delight to fly. With one of our recommended
brushless motor systems the performance is very good. The Viking with its high
wing and large surfaces is very responsive and yet a stable platform for the
novice pilot. The large wing and NACA airfoil come together to make an aircraft
that penetrates wind quite well, and handles with authority. Best of all the
large wing allows the Viking to slow down for floating landings. Slow flight
with the Viking is a dream. The Viking is a perfect aircraft for the novice
pilot but anyone will enjoy the Viking! The large ailerons and flaps make for a
fun and relaxing machine. Best of all the larger aircraft is able to fly on a
modest electric motor and a reasonably small battery pack.
The Viking can be flown with ailerons, elevator, rudder and optional flaps.
We suggest using the HS-56B servos for all surfaces. A standard receiver will
fit easily in the spacious fuselage. The battery can be easily accessed
through a large opening in the front of the fuse. We designed the Viking for
ease of assembly, access and wonderful flying characteristics.

Here are our best suggested motor systems:
MP Jet Motor System- 2810-7-nobat
This motor system includes the MP Jet 2810-7 Brushless Outrunner Motor with
Phoenix 35 Brushless, Sensorless Speed Control, Prop, prop adapter, and all
connectors and hardware.
MP Jet Motor System with Li-Poly battery-2810-7
This motor system includes the MP Jet 2810-7 Brushless Outrunner Motor
with Phoenix 35 Brushless, Sensorless Speed Control, 3-cell 4000 mah li-Poly
battery pack, prop, prop adapter, and all connectors and hardware. With this
system tyou can expect flight times of over 30 minutes with 40 minute plus
flight quite possible. Best of all the power is tremendous and it is possible to
"hover"!
