Quiet Storm

This is a very impressive aircraft! When you open the box you will find a fully decorated aircraft with all components neatly packed. There are many really nice extras are in this ARF kit which includes a fully painted cowl, belly pan and finished canopy section, fiberglass wheel pants, mole3d landing gear and even aluminum control horns. Of course the Quiet Storm is very complete and includes all hardware and a fully llustrated and detailed instruction manual. The fuselage will accommodate either a bulkhead (front mount) or a stick mount and all parts are included with the kit.

This is what the manufacturer says: "Quiet Storm 3D is the tentative name for 1,098mm F3A plane.You will be impressed by how it is made exactly like a full size plane. The Quiet Storm 3D is produced with carefully selected high quality AAA balsa and covered with splendid designed Oracover from Germany. It is small plane, though it is designed to dwindle the air resistance. You will be enjoying learning maneuver of small F3A with 'Quiet Storm 3D'.

The Quiet Storm is designed to fly like a pattern ship and this it does very well. It is a balanced aircraft with excellent tracking and can do every maneuver in the book. It will also hover quite nicely and its slow speed flight and harriers are very good. Axial rolls, knife-edge flight, multiple point rolls are all in a days work for this great model. We find the Quiet Storm to be a very accurate airplane and is very precise in its maneuvers. The quality is topnotch and it is really a joy to both assemble and fly.

The QuietStorm uses 4 servos. One each for the elevator and rudder and two for the ailerons. We recommend using the Hitec HS-56B or the MX-50 or 50HP servos. The Electron 6 receiver is the best choice. For a battery we suggest using a 3cell 1800-2600 mah Li-Poly battery. This will give you flight times of 15-25 minutes.

We suggest using a brushless motor and speed control to power the Quiet Storm. Here are some recommended motor systems:

The Hacker A20L Motor system-lipoly2
This is the Hacker A20-20L Brushless Outrunner motor with the X-20 Brushless Sensorless speed Control, 3-cell 2100 mah Li-Poly battery pack and 10 x 4.7 prop. and prop adapter. All connectors and hardware are included. This is a lightweight motor system and is very quiet with plenty of power. Since the Hacker is an Outrunner motor there is very little maintenance so you can expect long life and long flight times of 15-20 minutes are the norm.

Hacker B20-18L Motor System
This the most powerful of all the systems and includes a Hacker B20-18L motor with 4.3-1 planetary Geardrive, with the Phoenix 25 Brushless Sensorless motor, 3-cell 2100 mah Li-Poly battery, Prop, prop adapter, all connectors and hardware is included. This is one of the factory suggested systems and it works very well in the Quiet Storm.

Himaxx 2025-4266 Li-Poly Motor System
Himaxx 2025-4266 Li-Poly Motor System. Go with the Himaxx 2025-4266 Brushless motor and geardrive with the Phoenix 25 Brushless Sensorless motor, 3-cell 2100 mah  Li-Poly battery, Prop, prop adapter, all connectors and hardware is included. This will give you vertical performance (thrust is 40 ounces on a 22 oz ship!) and flight times in excess of 20 minutes! We find this system a great value.
