The Sparrow 66" is a great addition to the Sparrow line of sailplanes. We designed a one-piece fully built 66" wing and mated it to a longer Sparrow fuse with larger tails. The fuse will take a 600mah battery pack for longer flying times. The overall result is we have a very clean, all-composite Sparrow that can fly in light lift with smooth effortless handling. The generous surfaces result in positive control response right up to stall.
This all-composite ship features a fiberglass/Kevlar fuselage and pre-painted carbonfiber sheeted foam. Leading edges are finished and ailerons are cut and ready to go. Servo bays are cut with the wire holes ready. The wing is finished in white paint, so very little is left to the modeler. The wing is beautifully built and light in weight, utilizing the RG15 airfoil modified at the tip for optimum performance. The composite V-tail , bagged fiberglass over Spyder foam and has the elevators cut out and ready for hinging. Just glue together the two V-tail halves you're ready to go. All you do to complete the kit mount the wing and tails, do a little finish work (painting of the fuselage is nice, but optional), and set up and install the radio system. This is a very high quality sailplane and a wicked fast, clean flier. As with all the Sparrow kits, the hardware is complete with a full set of instructions and full-sized plans.
All-around flight characteristics of the Sparrow Composite are similar to the Sparrow 2 with faster roll rate and improved handling. This glider is designed for a wide range of flying conditions. It is very easy for the intermediate to fly, and will delight you with its smooth flying characteristics in a wide range of wind and lift conditions. We have to say that this is as close as you get for an all weather slope sailplane. The Sparrow 66" will fly in very light to very strong conditions and we suggest you always carry ballast with you to take advanatage of the amazing perfrpmance of this beautiful sailplane.

This new Sparrow is the one I fly. The light lift flight envelope is almost like an HLG! The handling is smooth and flawless. A delight to fly. I especially love this Sparrow for thermal searching off a small ridge. When ballasted up, this Sparrow can be very fast...faster than a 60 racer, but then you would be cheating!
