The Yak is an impressive and graceful looking model with its curved lines and solid
color. It is equally impressive in the air and with a simple speed 400 motor the Yak can
tear up the sky in search of enemy fighters. It's designed for a 6V Speed 400 motor on 7
or 8 cells, but it can also be powered by a brushless motor for even more impressive
performance.
The fuselage is made from light ply, the wings are balsa sheeted foam and everything is
covered with ultracote. The wings are semi-symmetrical and the control surfaces are
elevator and ailerons.
If you want an electric scale warbird that stands out in the pack then you want the
Yak.
This is an ARF aircraft with most of the work done for you. Everything is built and
covered with Oracover so all that is needed to do is to assemble, put your radio system
and motor system in and go flying. These aircraft are clean so they are pretty fast and
with a brushless motor will really go!
For the radio equipment we suggest using the Hitec Electron 6,
2-MX-50 or
2-HS-55
servos. Only two servos are needed, one for the ailerons and one for the elevator as these
aircraft can be flown with a simple 3 Channel radio such as the Focus 3FM. The
Yak can be flown with a direct drive speed 400 or 480 for good performance but for
incredible performance we suggest a speed 400 sized brushless motor such as the Aveox 2713/4 or
the Himaxx
2825/2700
The kit includes:
Built up balsa and ply fuselage
Balsa sheeted machine-cut foam core wings
Laser-cut balsa and ply parts
Vacuum formed plastic cowl and canopy
