Airfoil RG-14 Modified

Brand new and awesome performance! The new Filip RG has a new wing for the maximum in speed and efficiency with enhanced aerobatic abilities. We have taken the Filip Slope (originally modified by NSP) and designed the next generation Filip! The new wing sports the very fast RG-14 airfoil (with a few modifications by yours truly). The wing planform now sports a triple tapered wing design that increases the overall efficiency of the wing. The special taper also gives a noticeably faster roll rate. The results are a new level of performance! The Filip RG will fly faster, with quicker response and much more efficiency. Head to head the new Filip RG will blow by the older Filip E (the older Filip slope is also sometimes called the Filip 400 Sport, or Highlander)

Of course like the Filip Slope the Filip 400RG is uses the same fuselage and tails and is a full ARF! For the flier who doesn’t want to build and wants to have the best in a versatile Slope ship, the Filip RG, this is the way to go!

The Filip RG has a painted (gel-coated) fiberglass fuselage with contrasting canopy. The typical color scheme is yellow fuse with wings with yellow tops and red bottoms and ailerons. The wings are foam reinforced with carbon fiber (this is a unique and exclusive feature of the Filip RG), then sheeted with Obeechi and covered with Oracover. The wing is completely finished and is ready for servo installation. The ailerons are precut and beveled and servo bays are cut with the wire holes ready. The wing is finished in in Oracover so very little is left to the modeler. The wing is beautifully built and light in weight, utilizing the RG14 airfoil modified for optimum performance. The prebuilt V-tails are covered with matching Oracover and the elevators are also finished and covered ready for hinging. Just glue together the two V-tail halves and you’re ready to go. All you do to complete the kit is to hinge the wing and tails, mount them to the fuselage, set up and install the radio system. This is a very high quality sailplane and a very well behaved flier. We at NSP make sure you get a complete set of hardware as well as a set of illustrated instructions. One of the great features of the Filip RG is the two-piece wing. The wings come with a wingrod - so you are able to set the Filip RG wing for easy break-down for storage and transportation. All hardware is provided to do this and it's easily accomplished with a few modifications. The V-tail is mounted on the tail in a molded saddle on the fuselage and can also be made removable.

The airfoil used on the Filip RG is the RG14. It provides a noticeable increase in speed and acceleration with great handling. Using three servos (two in the wing) gives the Filip RG more precise, crisp aileron control, the ability to use the ailerons as spoilerons. You can also use 4 servos, two for the ailerons and two for the ruddervators. With active ruddervators the pilot will have more precise control in thermal lift. There is plenty of room in the fuselage to run the two ruddervator servos side by side.

Beauty, performance, and versatility make this a must-have plane for the electric sailplane enthusiast. This is a clean sailplane and will fly in an amazing variety of conditions. Due to the clean design of the Filip RG it becomes a pocket rocket able to do some amazing maneuvers and will fly in wind with ease. This glider is designed for a wide range of flying conditions. It is very easy for the intermediate to fly, and will delight you with its smooth flying and handling characteristics.

We suggest using the Hitec Electron 6 Receiver and HS-81's or HS-85BB for the ailerons. For the elevator we suggest using one HS-85BB or MX-50HP. If using two servos for Ruddervators use the MX-50 or the CS-4.9 servos. Best transmitters to use are the Airtronics RD-8000 or the Hitec Eclipse 7.

Now for the even better news! The price is simply amazing! This is a beautifully made and executed sailplane with flying performance faster than the Filip E and faster than any other Hotliner of its type and size!

What's even better is that the Filip RG is an ARF! For the slope flier who doesn’t want to build and wants to have the best in a versatile slope ship, the Filip RG, this is the way to go!

Recommended Radio Equipment

For receivers we suggest using either the Hitec Electron 6 , or the Hitec Superslim. These are small and light and are very good dual conversion receivers. All receivers include crystals. When ordering, please specify type of radio you are using and channel number.

Fro servos we recommend using the Hitec HS85MG or the Hitec HS85BB. These are very accurate and powerful micro receivers and are an attractive value. For the value conscious the HS-81 is a good adequate servo

For radios we would suggest the Hitec Eclipse 7, The Airtronics RD-8000 or the New Multiplex Royal Evo!
