A great backyard/parkflyer, wonderful for just fooling around and having fun! The carbon fiber boom is highly resistant to damage, and the power to weight ratio is just awesome! Looks like an airplane but has the convenience of our simpler flyers such as the Pleaser or SlimGym. Access to the battery and radio components is through a hatch on the bottom. This is a great feature and makes for quick battery changing! The pylon mount for the wing gives exceptional stability while being very resistent to damage. One of the things that stands out with the Cadet is its construction. All the components are designed to key together, making for a very rigid fuselage. The pylon is keyed to the fuselage and when assembled makes for a very sturdy mount. This is no flimsy foam flyer that will fall apart on your first outing. The Cadet was designed for fun and ease of assembly. Basically the radio mounts inside the fuselage and is accessed through a hatch on the bottom. This also makes for easy access to the battery. The other new feature of the Cadet is the use of the new Super Light Wheels. These wheels are 2-5/8" diameter and weigh less than 5 grams each! This is a highly prefabricated ARF and the modeler can easily have the Cadet flying in a single evening!

The overall design and power of the Cadet allow for a very wide speed range. You can practically hang the Cadet on its tail and fly at a walking speed, then simply lower the nose and she will speed right up. The large, light wing provides plenty of lift, and you can expect flight times of 12 to 15 minutes with the 7-cell 350mah NiCad battery! The wing is designed to be highly resistant to stalls - even in tight turns! Very nice, slow approaches yet controllable landings are the norm with the Cadet. Flying speeds can be quite slow too, but with an ample speed range to allow the Cadet to be flown in light winds (again, a function of the airfoil). The ample tails add to the overall stability of the Cadet, giving very positive control authority and allowing the Cadet to make very tight turns with no problems!

The carbon fiber tailbone is very strong and will take a goodly amount of abuse without damage. Combine this with the strong, flexible landing gear and large wheels, and the Cadet can take the novice’s less-than-perfect landings in stride, time and time again. The Cadet’s special tires have very low resistance and allow smooth takeoffs and nice cushioned landings on any reasonably flat surface. Nice slow takeoffs and low landing speeds add to the fun! The beginner will find the Cadet well behaved, and the expert will delight in the ability to maneuver at slow speeds. Really a lot of fun, with plenty of power and the ability to fly on the wing, the Cadet can be flown at very low throttle settings, resulting in long flight times; soar it, for even longer flight times. The motor system comes with an integral spinner to finish off the looks of the Cadet. Add a little profile pilot in the front round "window" and you can complete the effect.

You will need only a few hours to finish the highly prefabricated Cadet. All the components come built and covered with Solarfilm. A 280 motor with gearbox and prop are included, as is all hardware and landing gear.

As with all our products, we flight test, design and modify to make sure you get the best possible performance and fun out of your hobby. The Cadet was designed by NSP to fly better than anything in its class. We have tested and selected the best radio components to give you maximum climb, flight times and fun!

Motor accessories to complete your Cadet:
Pixie 14 speed control

Battery packs for the Cadet:
We have tested several options for the Cadet. The packs listed below perform very well. For most flying, we suggest the 7-cell 350mah NiCad. This will give you plenty of power and good duration. For longer duration, go to the 600mah NiMHd - same size as the 350 NiCad, but longer lasting!
Our flight times are based on actual testing and are achievable by the average flier.

7-cell 350mah NiCad battery (flight time 12-15 minutes)

7-cell 600mah NiMHd Battery (flight time 15-20 minutes)

Focus 3SS FM Radio Ssytem.
This is the best radio system for the Cadet will give the best combination of performance, low weight and price. It comes with a three channel NiCad FM rechargeable transmitter, 555 Dual Conversion Micro receiver and two HS-55 ultra lightweight servos.

Chargers for the Cadet
Multiplex Pico - perfect for the Cadet, will charge 6-7 cells

Sal Says:
I was very pleased when I first saw the Cadet. The airframe is very well made. The construction is throughout and all components are of very high quality and well matched. It flies and handles well and I find it suitable for beginner to expert! When I fly this on in my cul-de-sac the kids love it because it flies really well and looks like an airplane! BTW...I fly in my front yard so much that the kids (ages 3-12) are getting pretty good at critiquing my airplanes. They gave this one a 10!
