The Elipsoid is a large, elegant-looking electric sailplane and it is just the right
size for thermaling in your favorite field. It comes to you almost ready to fly with the
wings and tails covered in Oracover, requiring only the fitting of the T-tail and rudder
to the fuselage. All hardware is included, and a few short evenings you will have your
Elipsoid ready to fly. All surfaces are finished and covered with the fuselage prepainted
in the molded a gel coat white.
The finished fuselage is white, gel-coated fiberglass with a blue gel-coated canopy.
It’s almost ready ready to go! The battery can be accessed through the canopy without
removing the wing.
The curved tip wings have ailerons on the outer panels and are finished and hinged. The
outer tips have dihedral for stabilty, so important when thermaling at great heights
(common with the Elipsoid!). The wings have a two full-length spars with D-tube
construction leading edge for great strength, airfoil integrity and reduced drag. The wing
is strong enough for moderate aerobatics. Servo bays are installed and are ready for
wiring. Handling with the large ailerons is immediate and very smooth. Overall a very nice
handling sailplane. The T-tail is very effective and stays out of the way for those grass
landings. The rudder coupled to the ailerons results in a very nicely coordinated turn and
is very efficient for thermaling flights.
The Elipsoid is easily transportable. The wings and tails disassemble and the whole
sailplane can fit in its original box.
The Elipsoid flies very well, is easy to see and will climb in the lightest lift. The
110" wingspan gives excellent glide performance and the low wingloading and good
airfoil makes this a great choice for a thermal electric sailplane.
The Elipsoid is perfect for both 7-cell and open class electric competition. With the
proper 7-cell motor system the Elipsoid will climb fast and steep and definitely has the
performance to compete. The thermaling ability of the Elipsoid is fantastic, with an
incredible capability to stay up in light lift and still penetrate to find the far off
field thermals. The ailerons can be used as spoilerons for glide path control.

- One of the motor systems features below:
Medusa Motor System-Lgsail These Medusa motors are simply awesome.
They are as good or better than the Aveox motor and at a more reasonable price. We are
VERY glad we found them! The Medusa MR-028-056-1900
is equivalent to the Aveox 2729/1.5 but a little more efficient and a little more thrust.
Here is what you get: The Medusa MR-028-056-1900 with Planetary 4.3-1 Gear drive, Phoenix 45 amp brushless
sensorless speed control, 8 cell 1700 CP battery pack, folding Cam prop, spinner and hub
as well as all connectors and hardware. This will take this machine skyward at a very
rapid rate of climb!
